QR codes
QR codes in CateringCare are used to speed up ingredient handling. You print barcodes for your ingredients and attach them to storage containers or shelves. Staff can then scan items quickly instead of typing names — which is faster and reduces errors.
What QR codes are used for
- Inventory counting — scan containers to quickly record stock levels
- Receiving deliveries — scan incoming items to confirm they match the purchase order
- Kitchen workflow — identify ingredients at a glance
Generating QR codes
Go to QR codes in the main menu.
- Search for the ingredients you want to print codes for
- Select them using the checkboxes
- Click Print — the system generates a printable PDF with barcodes
Each printed code shows the ingredient name, supplier article number, and a scannable barcode.
Scanning QR codes
QR codes can be scanned using:
- The mobile app (when doing inventory counts or receiving deliveries)
- A barcode scanner connected to a computer
Filtering by supplier
If you want to print codes for all items from a specific supplier (for example, before a delivery arrives), use the supplier filter to narrow the list before selecting.
