Diet types

Diet types let you record the specific dietary requirements of your customers — for example, vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, lactose-free, or other medical or religious dietary needs. When customers have a diet type set, the system can filter or flag menus and meals accordingly.

Why diet types matter

Serving a meal that contains an ingredient a customer cannot eat is a serious issue — both for health and for trust. Diet types, combined with allergen information on recipes, give you a safety net.

Adding a diet type

  1. Go to Administration → Diet types
  2. Click Add diet type
  3. Enter a name (for example, "Vegan" or "Gluten-free")
  4. Optionally add a description
  5. Save

Assigning diet types to customers

When editing a customer, you can assign one or more diet types. This information is then visible in orders, production reports, and delivery notes so kitchen staff always know what each person requires.

Linking diet types to allergens

Diet types work alongside allergens (see Allergens). For example, a "Dairy-free" diet type can be linked to the milk and lactose allergens so that recipes containing those ingredients are automatically flagged.
