Temperature sensors

Temperature sensors connect physical IoT temperature-monitoring devices to the system. Once connected, their readings are automatically recorded and can trigger alerts if temperature goes out of a safe range.

Why temperature monitoring matters

Keeping food at safe temperatures is a legal and health requirement. Automated monitoring removes the need for manual checks and creates a reliable record for inspections.

Adding a sensor

  1. Go to Administration → Temperature sensors
  2. Click Add sensor
  3. Enter the sensor's ID or connection details (provided by your sensor hardware supplier)
  4. Name the sensor (for example, "Walk-in fridge" or "Chilled display")
  5. Set the acceptable temperature range (minimum and maximum)
  6. Save

Alerts

If a sensor reads a temperature outside the defined range, the system creates an alert. You can view these in the E-Control → Temperature sensors section.
